[ Languages ] Open Question : Why is God called "kami-sama" in Japanese? Why Mr. Paper and nothing else?

Seriously, I was watching and singing on a Youtube video from A Goofy Movie, "Ashita Kara" and I discovered yesterday that they call God "kami-sama." I heard before that kami means paper, where the word and meaning of "origama" stemmed from with ori meaning something else and changing the sound, of ka to ga simply by adding one more stroke of characters to the Kana symbol and "sama" means Mr or Mrs. I found it in here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTBTyxAIqAo
