[ Parenting ] Open Question : is it wrong to let your child hang out in a cage?

so we've been dog-sitting for my mom... she brought the dog's stupid cage too. the dog hates it. instead of her cage she's been sleeping on my lazy-boy recliner, full tilt... payback for my mom spoiling my kids... anyways... TimBob won't get out of the dam cage... the boy is obsessed... he can barely move but he won't get out... the dog is seems happy about it...
